An early 20th century Southeast Asian bronze “Rain Drum” – used in cultural rituals for hundreds of years particularly by the Karen people of Thailand and Myanmar. The top with 4 frogs around the rim along with aquatic flowers and stylised seed motifs between the concentric circles and a group of trailing elephants to the waisted side. The drums are struck with a padded mallet and when raindrops fall on the drum’s surface they create soft musical notes.
