Stock no: 100 069

An early 18th century George II figured walnut bureau bookcase with a later associated top. The matched figured panel doors to the upper section with re entrant upper corners open to an arrangement of walnut veneered drawers above a pair of candle slides. The angled fall opens to reveal an arrangement of drawers and pigeonholes around a central figured door – the rear panel  slides for access to a secret compartment to the reverse. Later engraved brass handles and bun feet commensurate with age.

The figured walnut panels to the upper section may well have been mirrors and replaced at some time in the 20th century.
