A late 19th century kingwood and ormolu mounted “bureau plat” made in England in the French Louise XV taste. The top  intricately inlaid with a central  marquetry panel of flowers. The serpentine form with cast ormolu border and mounts which in additional to enhancing the elegance provides protection to the edges. The frieze has a central “concealed” drawer fitted with a Victorian Bramah security lock.
